General Notes: | |
1.) | EF-Mount: Arri Alexa (Classic, XT, SXT ... including the Alexa M) cameras ship with the so-called Exchangeable-Lens-Mount-(ELM)-System - which features a round mount base - and a PL mount by default, with Panavision PL and mounts for still photo camera systems being advertised as available on demand (as part of a future-proof open architecture concept). In reality no more than 2 PL mounts (LA-PL-1 and LA-PL-2: 54 mm stainless steel mounts without and with LDS contacts) were produced by Arri themself. So? Similar to the RED ONE for these you'll need to rely on third party adapters, like the PrimeCircle XE-EF (according to P+S Technik not applicable to the Alexa Studio) or a Birger mount. Refer to Still Lenses C/EF > Adapting Lenses > EF to Cine for more details. The only exception within the Arri Alexa family being offered with a natively produced Canon EF mount option is the Alexa Mini (not to be confused with the earlier Alexa M), which uses the same exchangeable mount system as the Arri Amira (square mount base plate). It's an electronic mount with still limited compatibility. Supported lenses include the following (probably more to come):
