Milvus lenses are optimized to meet the requirements of high resolution sensors (6K+). They are dust and moisture sealed, and the ZF.2 versions feature an aperture de-click function. "For the manufacture of ZEISS lenses we use a global production network of trusted partners in the optical industry that has been built up over many years. The Milvus lenses are produced in Japan." (Zeiss Lenspire Team)
Zeiss offers Lens Gear rings for the Milvus and Otus lens lines to support Mod. 0.8 gear follow focus units. They are made of aluminum and delivered with so-called GumGum rubber bands to protect the lenses' focus rings against scratches. Mounting does without tools. Available is a choice of 4 sizes - Mini with an inner diameter of 62 - 69mm (60 - 67mm with GumGum), Small for a diameter of 71 - 77mm (69 - 75mm with GumGum), Medium for a diameter of 78 - 84mm (76 - 82mm with GumGum) and Large for a diameter of 86 - 93mm (84 - 91mm with GumGum). The Milvus 1.4/50 requires the Medium version.
