Rokinon's cine lenses are based on the standard lenses for still photography, but optimized for video applications. This includes follow focus gears, aperture declicking and the relocation of scales to the side of the lenses. The Rokinon Cine DS Series, introduced in 2014 as 2nd generation line of VDSLR lenses, additionally are color matched, feature unified gear positions among all lenses as well as focusing scales on both sides of the lens.
The lens was announced as NCS, according to product pictures it's UMC. B&H states the following in their product description: "Highly effective nanocrystal anti-reflection (NCS) coating applied together with UMC coatings improve light transmission and reduce ghosting."
