Century Optics U.S.A. launched a S2000 cine mod of the Canon EF 2.8/400L USM. This modification includes a complete rehousing with cine optimized mechanics, adding a manual aperture ring, an extended focus throw (360°), precision scales on both sides of the lens, focus and iris gears and a support mount for Arri bridgeplates. Only the optics remain made by Canon. The lens takes two R40.5 filters and is compatible with the TeleFX rear filter system for 70 x 45mm filters. The 40.5mm filters only fit APS-C format sensors and will cause vignetting on fullframe, Super 35 and APS-H. The mod comes with Century Universal Mount (exchangeable dedicated mount pieces). Century does not offer a mount dedicated to Canon EF, but as a Canon user you can apply the T mount #0TM-00CT-00 and then adapt to Canon EF. Each lens is delivered in a hardcase.
