Additional Information:
The lens does not have a dedicated focus ring. Instead turn the front ring, which rotates during AF operation. There is an optional manual focus ring available, which screws into the filter thread (see Canon EF-M manual p11 & p35).
When mounting the lens to an EOS 40D, 50D, 60D or 7D, the peripheral AF points will not function as cross-types. Vertical and horizontal lines will be detected separately (less accurate and a bit slower). This is due to the optical characteristics of the lenses and the cameras' AF sensors and can't be fixed.
