YAY!!! Thanks to this great project I finally found a well working cross-browser compatible and for a CSS and JS n00b-forever like me easy to implement solution to keep these damn table headers in sight. YEAH BABY!!

Hope you enjoy this feature, took me 2 full days to get behind the trick. My bad I have to say goodbye to <DOCTYPE "Quirk International"> at relevant pages (people who ever watched my source code know what I mean). I kinda liked this joke.

The News:

And the news go on. Tamron announced it's new SP AF 17-50mm F2.8 VC, Sigma followed to announce a 70-300mm F4.0-5.6 DG OS.

Since the 3rd parties' flash list grew to some serious size I seperated Metz and Quantum from the others. For Metz I added marketing dates as far as I could investigate at archive.org. I also added flash manufacturer links to the link list, updated 3rd party flash lists with secondary fill flash information (not finished so far) and added the following models:

  • Bilora Multi-D-Flash-C aka 123-C
  • Bower 724 AFC
  • Emoblitz 728AFC, D35AFC, D730AFC, DPZ420AFC and DRF14

  • Suntax models D35AFC, D730AFC, DPZ420AFC and DRF14
  • Tumax models DMF880-C, DMR, DPT980AFZ-C

The note about who manufactures which brands was deleted. I don't know, where I found that story about National producing Canon Speedlites, or Sunpak producing flashes for Nikon. I could not find any information about this again. For the chinese OEM manufactures I will add notes to the pertaining models instead of giving all too general information.

Lens additions:

  • Dry Mounting 90mm F4.0 Dreamagon
  • Loreo Lens in a Cap stuff

Deleted:

  • Achiever DZ260 flash (no TTL)

News:

The news is again, that there are no big news atm (this never the less means, that there will be big news in the near future :)). That's all right so far as I don't need to update and can digg for lost-in-infinity tech specs of famous Exakta AF lenses, just for an example. Also, it was time again to update the lists with tests that were published during the last 12 months (I only do this once a year, and maybe more occationally add Photo Zone tests).

  • Photozone came up with some new tests during the last few mounths, including the Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8L II USM.
  • SLRgear's new tests included the Canon EF 24mm F1.4L USM II prime and the Canon EF-S 18-200mm F3.5-5.6 IS zoom. Of the third party lenses the Sigma 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC Aspherical OS HSM and the Tamron AF 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 Di-II LD VC were tested.
  • SLRgear also seem to have quietly added tests to older lens entries over time, that I did not recognize until now, including the following lenses:
    • Canon EF 24mm F2.8
    • Canon EF 100-300mm F4.5-5.6 USM
    • Canon EF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6L IS USM
    • Canon EF 300mm F2.8L IS USM
    • Canon EF 400mm F5.6L USM
    • Canon EF 800mm F5.6L IS USM
    • Sigma AF 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX DG Aspherical HSM
    • Sigma AF 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM
    • Sigma AF 50-500mm F4.0-6.3 EX DG APO RF HSM
    • Sigma AF 70-300mm F4.0-5.6 DG APO Macro
    • Sigma AF 300mm F2.8 EX DG APO HSM
    • Tamron AF 10-24mm F3.5-4.5 SP Di-II LD
    • Tamron AF 70-200mm F2.8 SP Di LD
  • Fred Miranda added ratings for the Canon EF 24mm F1.4L USM II, TS-E 17mm F4.0L and TS-E 24mm F3.5L II, and for the Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM.
  • Castleman sent a comparison between the old and the new Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8 (dunno when exactly, however ... it's added)
  • Photodo does not seem to do any new MTF testing these days (at least I can't find them) as well as the latest lenses are missing in their listings. However, also there I found some 'new' test data for these lenses:
    • Canon EF 17-35mm F2.8L USM
    • Canon EF 20-35mm F3.5-4.5 USM
    • Canon EF 22-55mm F4.0-5.6 USM

    • Canon EF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6L IS USM
